The short version
- The only personal information we collect is what you type into the waitlist form.
- We use it for one thing: to tell you about Essember early access, the way you asked to be contacted.
- We count how the page itself is used — visits, pages, where people came from — to make it better. That counting stays with us.
- We never sell, rent or trade it.
- No automated marketing sequences, no newsletters you didn't ask for, no “just checking in.”
- Ask us to delete it and we will.
Who we are
Essember is operated by Stillwell Care, Inc., a Delaware corporation. In this notice, “we,” “us” and “our” mean Stillwell Care, Inc. You can reach a human at admin@stillwell.care.
What this notice covers
This notice covers this website only.
Essember the product is not open yet. When it launches, the app will have its own privacy notice covering health and financial information, and you will have to read and agree to it separately. If anything is ever going to change about information you have already given us, we will tell you before it changes — not afterwards.
What we collect
Only what you choose to enter in the waitlist form:
- Your name
- How you would like to be reached, and the matching email address or phone number
- Your answer to “What brings you here?”
- Any features you ticked, and anything you typed into the write-in box
- If you asked us to text or call you: a record of that permission — the exact wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed to it
That is the whole list. There is no account, no password and no payment on this website.
Please do not send us health information. This website is not a healthcare service, and Stillwell Care, Inc. is not a healthcare provider, a health plan, or a business associate of either. Nothing you send through this page is protected health information, and it is not covered by HIPAA. Keep diagnoses, medications and medical history out of the write-in box and out of any email to us.
Information collected automatically
Our website host may keep standard server logs — things like IP address, browser type and the time of the request — to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you or to target advertising.
Measuring how the site is used
We measure how this website is used: how many people visit, which pages they look at, how they arrived, what device they are on, and roughly what part of the country they are in. We use it to decide what to fix and what to write next. This is counting visits and spotting patterns — it is not an attempt to work out who you are, and we do not connect it to your name or your waitlist entry.
We do this with analytics we run ourselves, on infrastructure we control, or with a provider acting solely on our instructions and permitted to use the information for nothing else. Either way the information stays with us. It is never given to an advertising network, never combined with data bought from other companies, and never used to follow you around the internet.
To avoid counting the same visit twice, our analytics may store a small first-party identifier — a cookie or something similar — in your browser. It is used for that and nothing else. We set no advertising cookies, and we run no third-party advertising or social media trackers on this site.
If we ever change how this works in a way that matters to you, we will update this notice and say so plainly.
One thing we do want you to know: our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver a font, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information, as it would for any site using that service. We do not send Google your name or anything you typed, and we get nothing back from them about you.
We do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. We honour those signals by not doing the thing in the first place.
Why we collect it
What you type into the form has one purpose: so we can contact you about Essember early access.
What we measure about the site has another: to understand how people find and read this page, so we can improve it.
We also count what people tell us — how many ticked a particular feature, for instance, or the themes that come up in the write-in box — to decide what to build first. That is counting, not profiling, and it does not change how we treat you individually.
How we contact you, and how to make us stop
You choose the channel on the form: email, text message, or a phone call. We only use the one you picked.
If you choose text or a call, we ask you to agree to that separately, right next to where you type the number. You do not have to agree in order to join the waitlist — choosing email is always an option — and we keep a record of the exact wording you agreed to and when.
We contact you when there is something real to say — that Essember is opening, or that we need your answer on something. We do not run automated drip sequences, we do not send newsletters, and we do not pass your details to anyone else so they can contact you.
- Email. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
- Text. Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. Reply HELP and we will tell you how to reach us. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
- Phone. Tell us to stop calling and we will. You can also text or leave a message saying so.
- All of it. Email admin@stillwell.care, or reply to any text we send, and we will remove you from the waitlist entirely.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers help us run this website: the provider that receives the form submission, the provider that sends our email, and our website host. They are permitted to use your information only to provide that service to us, and not for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We never have, including in the past twelve months, and we have no plans to.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, if we are responding to a valid legal process, or if it is necessary to protect someone's safety. If Stillwell Care, Inc. is ever sold, merged or reorganised, waitlist information may transfer as part of that — and we would tell you before it happened.
How long we keep it
We delete your waitlist information as soon as you ask us to. If you never ask, we delete it two years after our last contact with you. If Essember never launches, we delete the waitlist.
Site measurement data is kept in aggregate — counts and trends rather than records about a person — and any underlying detail is discarded within 14 months.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct it
- Delete it
- Stop contacting you
Email admin@stillwell.care. We will respond within 45 days, and if a request is complicated enough to need longer we will tell you why before that deadline passes. We will never treat you differently, or offer you a worse deal, because you exercised one of these choices.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and a growing number of other states have some of these rights by law. We extend all of them to everyone, regardless of where you live. Because we hold so little, verifying you is usually just a matter of contacting us from the email address or phone number you signed up with — if we need anything more, we will ask only for what is necessary and we will not keep it.
Children
This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect what you give us, and we keep the amount we hold deliberately small. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects information you have already given us, we will contact you directly before it takes effect.
